1. Gender Responsive Comprehensive Sexuality Education Integrated in National Curriculum Program (Phase II and III): As an Implementing Partner of UNFPA (Country Program Action Plan 2013-2017 and 2018-2022), SISo Nepal is providing technical support in capacity building of Ministry of Education, Science and Technology/Center for Education and Human Resource Development  (CEHRD) and provincial and local governments in Lumbini and Sudur Pashchim province in Capacity Building to provincial and Local Government by Advocacy Orientations on CSE, Curriculum Developing on CSE, Conducting ToT on CSE, Mentoring and Coaching guideline development and conducting mentoring and coaching to teachers and adolescent peer educators on CSE in schools through Gender Responsive Comprehensive Sexuality Education Program in financial support from AUSAID/UNFPA- (Since March, 2021)- SISo Nepal/UNFPA/CEHRD/ MoEST
2. Provide Technical Assistance to National Health Training Center on Revising the Training Package on Adolescent Friendly Sexual and Reproductive Health Service in financial support from National Health Training Center (NHTC) of Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) -NHTC/SISo Nepal- December 2020- Feb 2021.
3. Assessment of Access and Utilization of SRH Service among Adolescents in Nepal: Conducted assessment of Access and Utilization of SRH service among adolescent in Nepal representing three ecological regions (Mountain, Hill and Terai) of Nepal in technical and financial support from WHO and FWD-October – December 2019- SISo Nepal/WHO/FWD.
4. Technical Assistance to National Health Education Information and Communication Center of Ministry of Health and Population (NHEICC/MoHP) in support from Save the Children International Nepal (Healthy Transition for Nepali Youth Project) in developing curricula (SBCC material) on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (SBCC Package/ASRH Curricula) mainly focussing on the child spacing including the Family Planning and contraception, ANC and PNC, mental health of adolescents and Life skills SISo Nepal/SCI Nepal/FWD/NHEICC
5. Comprehensive Sexuality Education: Technical Assistance to the Center for Educational and Human Resource Development (CEHRD) of Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) on Comprehensive Sexuality Education through “Enhancing Adolescents and Young Peoples Knowledge on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) through Formal and Informal Education Linking with Adolescent Friendly Service in Nepal Program”– As an Implementing Partner of UNFPA (Country Program Action Plan 2013-2017 and 2018-2022), SISo Nepal provided Technical Support to CEHRD/MoEST in Development of Training Package and Resource Material for teachers on CSE, ToT and Teachers Training on CSE, roll out Menstrual Hygiene Management package and orientation on Establishment and Management of Adolescent Friendly Information Corner (AFIC) in schools- SISo Nepal/UNFPA/CEHRD(NCED)/ MoEST/FWD/MoHP

6.  Technical Support to FWD and NHTC in National ASRH Program Implementation: SISo Nepal providing Technical Support in implementing national ASRH Program to Family Welfare Division (FWD) (formerly FHD) of Department of Health Service (DoHS) with the aim to contribute in improving the quality of comprehensive adolescent friendly sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) services – SISo Nepal/UNFPA/FWD/MoHP.

Main activities include the following:

• Develop Quality Improvement and Certification Tool for Adolescent Friendly SRH services
• Conduct orientation to the district health managers on National Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Program Implementation Guideline
• Conduct the national ASRH review

 

7. Technical Support in Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) Training Package Development and MTOT Conduction: SISo Nepal provided Technical Support to National Health Training Center (NHTC) in developing ASRH training package and conducting/ facilitating MTOT in close coordination with NHTC, FWD and NHEICC of MoHP with the aim to contribute in strengthening the capacity of health institutions and service providers to plan and implement high-quality comprehensive adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) services.-SISo Nepal/UNFPA/NHTC/ MoHP

Main activities include the following:

1. Develop ASRH training package (Facilitators /Trainer’s Guide, Participants Handbook and Reference Materials)
2. Conduct Training of Trainers (TOT) and Service Providers.

 8. Life Skills Based Prevention of Tobacco use among Adolescents in Kabhrepalanchok District: SISo Nepal implemented the tobacco prevention and control program targeting to adolescent with the technical and financial support from Health Tax Fund, Ministry of Health and Population-SISo Nepal and Health Tax Fund/MoHP.

9. Development of Youth Friendly Service Delivery Module: SISo Nepal has developed the youth friendly service delivery module for the use of the service providers of Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN), –SISo Nepal/FPAN

10. Review and Revision of the Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) Program and Development of the Curriculum/Package of the Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) Program Implemented by Plan Nepal (being implemented in Plan Nepal supported program districts through the NGO partners in Nepal)- SISo Nepal/ Plan Nepal

Main activities include the following:

1. Review, Revision and Development of the BCC curriculum/package of Plan Nepal on livelihood development for the Women and Adolescent Girls on Livelihood, Gender, Gender Based Violence, Women’s Rights, Child Rights and Child Marriage
2. Develop flip charts to use in delivering information on Livelihood, Gender, Gender Based Violence, Women’s Rights, Child Rights and Child Marriage (12 types of flip charts)

• Pre-testing and finalizing the BCC package

 

11. Delivering Community Home Based Care (Care and Support) Training to CHBC Workers and Health Staff of SRs that are Operating VCT/STI Services at field level in Phase II of the Grant of GFATM program of FPAN: Training to the various staff including the PLHA, FSWs and IDUs of the SRs of FPAN GF program (round seven) on CHBC-SISo Nepal /FPAN

12. Capacity Building of National and Regional level Trainers on HIV Risk Reduction among Most at Risk and Especially Vulnerable Adolescent (MARA and EVA) and Providing Peer Education Training to Adolescent Girls on Life Skills in Kathmandu, Mahottari and Rautahat districts in close collaboration with FWD, NCASC, DPHO, DDC, UNFPA and UNICEF-SISo Nepal/ FWD/NCASC/UNICEF.

13. National Symposium on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Service: SISo Nepal has conducted national workshop/symposium on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Service in active participation and views of the adolescents from regional consultation workshop in close coordination and collaboration with FWD, NCASC, UNICEF and Ministerial Leadership Initiative (MLI) in technical and financial support with MLI, USA– SISo Nepal / MLI/FWD/ MoHP

 14. Contributing to the National Effort of Improving the Services for Adolescent Including PMTCT Service through Adolescent Friendly Services Provision in close collaboration with FWD, NCASC, DPHO, DDC, WHO and UNICEF under this program-SISo Nepal/UNICEF/WHO/FWD/MoHP.

• Global Adolescent Job Aid (developed by the WHO) in Nepali language (translation and adaptation) for the use of health service providers in Nepal;
• Demand generation materials on adolescent friendly service;
• Training package on adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) and prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV (PMTCT);
• Orientation to the district health managers (DHO/DPHO, PHN, FP officers/supervisors) on ASRH and PMTCT Service;
