Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Interventions of SISo Nepal

 

1.     Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Young People Program: Long Term Implementing Partner of GFA / GIZ to provide technical support to implement the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Young People Program of Family Health Division (FHD) of Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Nepal – SISo Nepal/GFA/GIZ/MoHP- January 2011- June 2014

Objective:

  • To provide technical support to Family Health Division (FHD) of Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) GIZ GFA Supported Health Sector Support Program to implement the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Young People Program

2. Final Evaluation of the ‘MPRC Initiative’- Improving Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) of Women in Nepal (Vaestoliitto Project third phase): –SISo Nepal/FPAN 2011

Objectives:

  • Analyze the inputs and processes of implementation of the project activities, focusing on participation of the community
  • Analyze the impact or changes that have occurred within beneficiary households and the community
  • Identify problems and constraints that have been encountered
  • Identify important lessons to be learnt and make recommendations for the implementation of future projects

Geographical Coverage:

  • Dailekh, Mahottari, Morang, Sunsari, Kapilbastu, Banke and Bardiya

3. Documentation of the ‘MPRC Initiative’- Improving Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) of Women in Nepal (Vaestoliitto Project third phase): – SISo Nepal/FPAN 2011

Objectives:

  • highlight the performance of the project including main achievements and outcomes
  • highlight the impact of the project interventions among the young women and young men, and
  • sketch the best practices and key lessons learnt by project during implementation

4.     Revision of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Development (ASRHD) Flipchart (SISo Nepal / UNFPA 2010)

Objective

  • To revise and upgrade the existing ASRHD flipchart covering the whole range of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Development issues for easy use and reference for health service providers and field workers

5.     Process Evaluation of the Operationlization of the Implementation Guide on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) with a focus on Youth Friendly Services (YFS) (SISo Nepal / GIZ 2010)

Objective

  • To identify and compile questions on reproductive health rights and develop simple, scientifically sound and correct answers for the IEC booklet.

Geographical Coverage

  • Baitadi, Bardiya, Dailekh, Jumla and Surkhet districts

6.     Adapting and producing IEC booklet for young people containing questions and answers on issues related to the reproductive health rights (SRHR) of young people in Nepal (SISo Nepal/GIZ 2010)

Objective

  • To identify and compile questions on reproductive health rights and develop simple, scientifically sound and correct answers for the IEC booklet.

7.     Master Training of Trainers (MTOT) on ASRH from selected Mid Western and Far Western districts and Regional Health Training Centers (RHTC) of MoHP (SISo Nepal/GIZ 2009)

Objective

  • To provide training to the RHTC trainers (jointly with NHTC and FHD/MoHP) in selected Mid Western and Far Western districts and Regional Health Training Centers (RHTC) of MoHP

8.     Organization and Facilitation of MTOT for Health Service Providers from 6 PARHI–CBP districts on YFSD and ASRH Information and Service (SISo Nepal/UNFPA 2008)

Objectives

  • To develop competencies of Master Trainers (MTs) of government district health systems to effectively facilitate trainings on ASRH/YFS for the health service providers (HSP) in order to improve their ASRH service delivery in the government health facilities to the young people in a friendly way and attain knowledge, skills and changing their attitudes and behaviour accordingly in regards to ASRH
  • To prepare team of master trainers in each CBP district for conducting the training in their respective districts
  • To develop work plan for each trainer participant to organize their training work in their respective districts
